‘I have a hunch that the great painter ... of Travancore‚ Ravi Varma‚ must have visualised the charming Mohiniyattam dancer‚ Dr Neena Prasad when he created images of the celestial mythological beauties. The myriad forms of femininity – worshipped and devoted‚ playful and erotic‚ sensuous and mysterious – revealed in a sensitive idiom‚ makes Mohiniyattam a voyage to experience beauty at a sublime level. Witnessing the Mohiniyattam performance at the India Habitat Centre last week was such a voyage. Prasad has enriched this dance form repertoire and this has greatly embellished it. .... It was a sheer delight to witness graceful movements negotiated through her nimble body.’
